Our People

Terrence East – principal

I graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Juris Doctor in 2017 and have spent most of my career working in family law and estate law.

I started East & Associates in 2025 with a vision to create a client-focused law firm that reflected my values. I find it genuinely rewarding to find solutions to legal problems and to guide clients through the challenges of litigation.

I have no interest in unnecessarily prolonging legal disputes or taking aggressive approaches to litigation that drive up legal costs and increase hostility. When necessary, however, I will vigorously advocate for my clients in court to obtain a just outcome.

Outside of law I am a gardener, an amateur artist and an armchair philosopher.

I am involved in the St Luke’s Maylands Anglican parish and can usually be found on the Maylands coffee strip on Saturday mornings.

I spent a part of my legal career working as a generalist lawyer in Denmark WA, where I played footy for the Denmark Walpole Magpies.

Stephanie East

Stephanie is a registered nurse who works part time as office manager at East & Associates.  Stephanie has an interest in early childhood education and is currently doing further study with the intention starting her own childcare business.  Outside of work and study Stephanie enjoys reading, swimming and looking after her pets.

Jordan Bodis

Jordan works part time with East & Associates assisting with finance and technology.  Jordan graduated from Curtin University in 2024 with a degree in accounting and finance. Jordan was instrumental in helping launch East & Associates in 2025.

Meghan Shapcott

Meghan is the friendly face at the East & Associates reception desk. Meghan is studying a bachelor of art in politics and international relations and hopes to have a career in foreign relations (if she doesn’t decide to remain our receptionist).

Cyril

Cyril is a Doyles Guide leading therapy dog and an accredited family law specialist. Cyril particularly enjoys assisting clients with complex financial disputes and has a proven track record for achieving outcomes for his clients.  Cyril is a valued member of the East & Associates team
